Two people are dead in an apparent murder-suicide in Wayland. A 68-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man were found dead inside a home in Wayland on Monday, with a fatal, self-inflicted gunshot wound in what authorities are calling an apparent murder-suicide.
The deaths were reported after 8 p.m. Monday on Adelaide Avenue in Wayland, and the Police found a 68-year-old woman had been shot and killed in the garage. The case is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Wayland Police, and Massachusetts State Police Detectives.
Officers also found the body of a 41-year-old man there, who died from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the statement said.
The two people knew each other, according to the DA’s office. Both were found in the garage. But they did not release any more information about their relationship.
Police blocked off the home with crime scene tape and detectives were seen going in and out of the garage throughout the night. This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety, officials said.
