Morongo Valley, California. – A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck near the Morongo Valley Monday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 4:25 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.
According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred eight miles from Desert Hot Springs, 13 miles from Palm Springs, 13 miles from Yucca Valley, and 264 miles from Phoenix.
No injuries or damage was immediately reported. In the last 10 days, there have been two earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 and greater centered nearby.
Earlier Monday morning, another magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck in San Bernardino County, two miles east of Loma Linda.
