Hot in here? The upcoming Lionsgate movie, about the sexual misconduct allegations against late Fox News executive Roger Ailes, has released its first teaser trailer, directed by Jay Roach and written by Charles Randolph featuring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie.
Back in 2016, a massive scandal roiled Fox News, as sexual harassment allegations piled up against the late Roger Ailes, who was at the time CEO and chairman.
One of the women who came forward with accusations was among the network’s most recognizable names: Gretchen Carlson.
Now a new film, aptly tiled Bombshell, is dramatizing the story and bringing it to the big screen. In the tense teaser, we get our first glimpse at Nicole Kidman as Gretchen Carlson, Margot Robbie as fictional Fox News associate producer Kayla Pospisil, and Charlize Theron as Megyn Kelly.John Lithgow portrays Roger Ailes, while Connie Britton plays his wife, Beth. Meanwhile, Allison Janney plays Ailes’s lawyer, while Kate McKinnon fills out the cast as a Fox News employee.
Only three words are uttered as the three blondes take a history-changing elevator ride, presumably to former Fox News chairman Ailes’ door. “Hot in here,” Kidman says as Carlson, the first to publicly file a sexual harassment lawsuit against Ailes.Upon their exit, the trademark Fox News logo is revealed.
It is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2019.
