Marvel boss Kevin Feige announced three new shows that would be joining the Marvel pantheon: “She Hulk”, “Moon Knight” and “Ms. Marvel” as part of the expanded Marvel Universe.At Disney’s D23 Expo annual confab in Anaheim, California, Kevin Feige announced that live-action series are in development at the upcoming streaming platform Disney+. All are derived from Marvel comics. The Ms. Marvel character, Marvel’s first Muslim superhero, also will be featured in movies, Feige said.
Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel will enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Marvel Studios’ ‘Ms. Marvel‘ exclusively on Disney+.Written by Bisha K. Ali (Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral), tells the story of teenager Kamela Khan, who was Marvel’s first Muslim character to lead her own series. A Pakistani-American from New Jersey, who has polymorphous powers, having the ability to stretch and change shape. The comic won a Hugo Award for best graphic story in 2015.
The next series announced was the hero of the night, Moon Knight. Moon Knight aka Marc Spector is a former CIA agent who is a mercenary left for dead in the Egyptian desert who is imbued with special powers by a spiritual force.He was almost killed by a terrorist named Bushman. Marc’s life was saved by the Moon God Khonshu. Marc kills Bushman and becomes Moon Knight.
And the last surprise for fans was the announcement of a third show streaming on Disney+… She-Hulk!She Hulk was created Stan Lee and artist John Buscema and first appeared in the Feb. 1980 issue Savage She-Hulk #1.Its the story of Bruce Banner’s cousin, Jennifer Walters, who in the comics receives a blood transfusion from her relative and is transformed into her own version of the Hulk.She’s also a member of the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, Defenders and S.H.I.E.L.D.
Disney+ launches on November 12.
