Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most popular games of all time, it nearly won the much-coveted Game of The Year award at The Game Awards in 2018, The existence of a PC port for Red Dead Redemption 2 has been teased once more thanks to some sneaky source code in Rockstar’s ‘Social Club’ online service. The latest hint was spotted by JakoMako51, who shared his find on Twitter.
The post proclaims “The fact that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming to PC is now quite evident” alongside a screencap of some source code from the social club website.
Rockstar’s Social Club source code appears to reference “RDR2_PC_Accomplishments.” This is likely hinting at some sort of planned achievement system because nearby lines of code mention “RDR2_PS4_Trophies” as well.If you’ve played GTA V on PC (or any social club Rockstar game for that matter) you’ll know that Accomplishments are the substitute for Xbox Achievements or PlayStation Trophies on the platform.
It’s really no surprise that PC gamers have been desperately hoping for a full port of the game since launch. However, developer Rockstar has been completely silent regarding their PC plans. You can verify this for yourself by heading to the Social Club website and browsing the source code by pressing F12 if you’re using Chrome.
