Netflix announced a new cartoon series : The Cuphead Show! with developer Studio MDHR’s Chad and Jared Moldenhauer serving as executive producers. The show is expected to “expand on the characters and world of Cuphead, with animation style inspired by the classic Fleischer cartoons from the 1930s,” according to the press release.
Developer Studio MDHR announced the news on its Twitter account this morning. The show is currently in development stage at Netflix, and it’s being handled by the company’s in-house animation team, according to Studio MDHR’s tweet. Cuphead was inspired by Fleischer and Disney cartoons from the ’30s, so an animated series isn’t much of a leap.
