AI Photo Editor FaceApp Goes Viral: This App Shows You What You'll Look Like When You'll Old

AI Photo Editor FaceApp has gone viral again after first doing so two years ago in 2017. It isn’t necessarily new, but it’s making headlines again because the app has gotten new, updated technology that realistically ages photos, showing users what they’ll look like when they age.

It has gone viral due to some new features that allow you to edit a person’s face to make it appear older or younger. Everyone is posting pictures of what they might look like when they’re old.It’s scary, so use at your own risk. Or, take a spin through Twitter or Instagram to see how others have turned out years into the future.And it’s provided a few good laughs in our work chat.

“The app’s privacy policy said it collects the pictures you upload to its service, so keep in mind that it’s keeping the selfies you take. Also be warned that one developer, Joshua Nozzi, said on Twitter that it appears the app may try to upload other pictures from your library. If you’re concerned about this, don’t give it access to your photos when it asks, just access to the camera.”, as per TechCrunch. 

FaceApp gained popularity in 2017 with its age filter which applies wrinkles and grey hair to photos uploaded through the application.It’s hyper-realistic. And, everyone is tempting fate by trying it out and sharing the results. Surprisingly, hot celebrities have joined in what’s being called the FaceApp Challenge, and posting their future saggy selves online.

Here’s how to try the filter if you want to get in on the fun:

  • Open the app and decline the subscription offer
  • Tap the camera button in the middle of the screen
  • Take a picture of yourself and tap ‘use’ on the bottom, you’ll see filters:
  • Choose ‘old’
  • Tap more filters, like ‘young.’ 
  • Mess around, there are some fun ones, like hipster.
