Pua Magasiva Power Rangers Actor, Dead At 38
Actor Pua Magasiva, who has starred in several Power Rangers television series as well as New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street, has died unexpectedly on Saturday. He was 38 years old. The cause of his death is currently unknown.

Police were called to a home in Wellington, New Zealand, early on Saturday morning, where they found the actor unresponsive, according to the New Zealand Herald.The cause of death has not been revealed but officers said there were no suspicious circumstances.

Pua Magasiva was born in Samoa but moved to New Zealand with his family at age two. He was married to wife Lizz Sadler for just one year and has a 7-year-old daughter, Jasmine, from his first marriage.

He began the role in 2003, at the height of his fame, and has starred in the show since his return in 2012.

"We are all absolutely devastated at the tragic news regarding Pua Magasiva," the soap's production company wrote on social media Saturday.\

"Pua was a much loved member of the South Pacific Pictures' family for many years and our hearts and thoughts go out to Pua's family at this time," they added.

Jason David Frank, who portrayed the popular White Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangersand played opposite of Magasiva as the Black Ranger in Power Rangers Dino Thunder made two Instagram posts about the late actor.



The actor also hosted a breakfast show on NZME radio but left last year. The company's chief executive Michael Boggs said about Magasiva's passing: "It is with deep sadness that the NZME family has today been told of the sudden death of Pua Magasiva. At this incredibly difficult time our thoughts, prayers and condolences go to Pua's family, friends and his many colleagues. For us at NZME, Pua was a loved member of our radio team at Flava. We've been in touch with Pua's former work mates and are offering them support".

Magasiva's Power Rangers Ninja Storm co-star, Jason Chan said in a Facebook post, "Incredibly sad to hear that one of our ranger family is gone. It will never be the same again. PUA you will be so dearly missed. You were the center of energy on set and off. Always laughing, giggling and involved in practical jokes."
