Lahore Qalandars will play against Islamabad United in Karachi’s National Stadium today.
Lahore Qalandars have made two replacements in their squad for the Pakistan-leg of the HBL Pakistan Super League. English batsman Riki Wessels and Sri Lanka all-rounder Asela Gunaratne have been included in place of New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson and Ryan ten Doeschate.
Sameen Rana, the Chief Operating Officer of Lahore Qalandars confirmed the two replacements, Anderson was unavailable for the Pakistan-leg while ten Doeschate suffered an injury during Qalandars game against Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi earlier this week.
“Ryan ten Doeschate was unable to bowl following an injury he suffered during Lahore Qalandars game against Peshawar Zalmi in Abu Dhabi. Asela Gunaratne is arrived today's morning to join Qalandars. Corey Andersen was not available for Pakistan-leg of the tournament. Riki Wessels has been included in his place as Qalandars were looking to have a wicket-keeper batsman,” said Rana.
Wessels is a richly experienced wicket-keeper batsman who has featured in 204 Twenty20 matches around the world, he has previously represented Zalmi in the HBL PSL. Sri Lankan all-rounder Gunaratne has played 48 T20 matches, he is known for his aggressive stroke-play while he also is more than useful medium-pace bowler.
