IGN Deletes Review Following Plagiarism Claim

IGN's review of indie title Dead Cells has been expelled from the site temporarily, pending an examination concerning claims it counterfeited a Youtube review of the game.

The allegation was conveyed to the fore by Boomstick Gaming, a channel with 12,000 endorsers, which posted a video with the title ‘IGN Copied my Dead Cells Review: What do I do?’.

The video demonstrates a next to each other correlation of Boomstick's original review, published a week ago, contrasted with IGN's, published August 6. You can see the allegations play around here:

IGN's review – both in composed and video shape – originated from Nintendo editorial manager Filip Miucin, and demonstrates a striking likeness to Boomstick's original. While portrayals of classifications and fundamental subjects of the game are certain to be specified in each standard review of Dead Cells, there are auxiliary and topical hybrids between each publications review that have brought up issues.

Since the allegation was made – in video frame – IGN has expelled both forms of its Dead Cells review and supplanted them with the accompanying content:

"As a group of writers and creators who value our own work and that of others in our field, the editorial staff of IGN takes plagiarism very seriously. In light of concerns that have been raised about our Dead Cells review, we've removed it for the time being and are investigating."
